Small Group Counseling
Lunch Bunch Groups
The purpose of these groups is to help students to learn and practice various social/emotional skills in the safe environment of the small counseling group. A variety of students are invited to join. The Lunch Bunch can also be a wonderful way for the children to develop and maintain relationships with others in their grade. Lunch Bunch is held once per week in the school counselor's office during the students' lunchtime. Each group lasts between 6-8 sessions. Written parent permission is required before student participation.

Focused Counseling Groups
Because learning in the classroom is impeded by weaknesses in social or emotional skills, these pull-out sessions are designed to deliver more intense instruction than a lunch group. The number of sessions depends on the need of the students. A wide variety of social/emotional topics are covered depending on student need. Focused counseling groups are skills and lesson-based. Skills and lessons addressed are designed to support school-setting issues. These groups are not therapy sessions. Focused School Counseling Sessions will take place during the regular school day (not to be held during lunch, recess, or specials.) Careful consideration is made about the student’s counseling schedule versus their classroom/academic schedule. Written parent permission is required before student participation.
